UFC Odds: Jessica Andrade vs. Rose Namajunas at Barclays Center. With most of the major league team sports cancelled due to COIVID-19, UFC is now in the sports betting spotlight. A showdown between the No. 1 women’s straw weight fighter Jessica Andrade (20-7) and No. 2 Rose Namajunas (8-4) will serve as the co-main main event at UFC 249 on Saturday, April 18.
Rose “Thug” Namajunas is hoping to regain some respect by challenging the No. 1 female strawweight fighter, Jessica Andrade, at UFC 249. The only fighter to beat Andrade in her last five fights is women’s strawweight champ Weili Zhang (No. 2 women’s pound-for-pound fighter). Bet The UFC At Bovada Now. US Welcome.
Andrade will be looking to bounce back after her latest bout; her brief stint as the women’s straw weight champion came to an end against Weili “Magnum” Zhang in a fight that went the distance. This fight will essentially be a rematch of UFC 237 when Andrade beat Namajunas for the belt. Namajunas entered that event on a three-fight winning streak, including two victories over Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 217 and 223. Standing three inches taller with nearly a three-inch reach advantage over Andrade, Namajunas is a —170 favorite at Bovada Sports to return to the win column and deliver Andrade back-to-back losses.
After beating Joanna Jedrzejczyk in 2017 as a +180 underdog at Bovada and Bodog, and winning her second Performance of the Night award in the process, Namajunas became the straw weight champ and successfully defended her title against Jedrzejczyk a year later. But she ultimately surrendered the belt to Andrade in May 2019; despite that result, Andrade now finds herself in the underdog role (+140) looking to prove herself against someone she has already beat. This fight will likely be much closer than the betting odds indicate.
