The reigning Cy Young winner tossed a five-hitter over seven innings, striking out 10 with a single walk. He heads into this game with a solid record against the Pirates this season – 3-1 in five starts with a 3.78 ERA. On the road this season, Arrieta is 11-2 in 14 starts with a 3.11 ERA.
Jameson Taillon (4-4, 3.49) took a no-decision in a 6-5 win at home over Washington, giving up three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out seven with no walks. However, the 24-year-old struggled against the Cubs in his lone start against them, lasting just four innings while giving up four runs on eight hits in a 10-5 loss in Chicago on June 19.
