With the 2019-20 English soccer season on hold, the people behind the Football Manager video game series have stepped into the breach with their own (simulated) competition: the EFL Football Manager Cup. This is a 54-team knockout competition featuring clubs from the three divisions in the English Football League. First-round matches got underway on Monday, with the final scheduled for May 17 – and we have all the odds waiting for you at Bovada Sportsbook.
The EFL Football Manager Cup is the biggest thing happening in the soccer world. This 54-team Football Manager 2020 videogame competition got underway Monday; Brentford FC are early +500 favorites after getting a first-round bye. Get your virtual sports odds at Bovada today.
Ten teams were chosen at random to receive a first-round bye, so those teams are naturally at the top of the futures market. Brentford FC (managed by one of their fans, Sam Jacques) are the +500 favorites at press time, followed by Leeds United (Rob Callery, also a club supporter) and West Bromwich Albion (midfielder Romaine Sawyers) at +700 at Bovada. They and the rest of the bye teams don’t have to play until Monday, April 27.
Highlights for every match will be available on the Football Manager YouTube channel after each round is complete (Round One will wrap up on Thursday). They’re using “Touch Mode” on the Football Manager 2020 edition; any injuries or suspensions occurring in one round will not carry over to the next.
