Clippers, Celtics in Last Game Before All-Star Break. The unofficial first half of the 2019-20 NBA regular season wraps up this Thursday when the Boston Celtics (37-15 SU, 31-19-2 ATS) host the Los Angeles Clippers (37-16 SU, 29-24 ATS). According to Bovada SportsBook TNT will have the coverage at 8 PM ET; the season will resume next Thursday after the extended All-Star break.
This isn’t a back-to-back scenario for either team, so we’ll presumably see Kawhi Leonard in the lineup for Los Angeles. Patrick Beverley (strained groin), on the other hand, isn’t expected to return until after the break. The Celtics could also decide to give Jaylen Brown the week off; he’s day-to-day with injuries to both his ankles.
Robert Williams remains out until at least February 13 with a left hipbone edema. Thursday’s matchup will be the second of the two regular-season games for these clubs – although they could certainly meet in the NBA Finals. Back on November 20, the Clippers welcomed Boston to Staples Center and won the game 107-104 in overtime as 7-point sportsbook favorites. Leonard (17 points), Beverley (14 points, 16 rebounds) and Paul George (25 points) all played for Los Angeles. Boston was also at full strength. Former Celtic Marcus Morris has since joined the Clippers in a trade-deadline deal with New York.
